    Sorry for the Necro, but this has just come up in a game. Was there every any official clarification or conversion between Incarnum & Akashia on head/headband/brow/crown?

    Between this quote, and the name “Dawnborn”, does this mean that the Third Dawn setting will be using this new system?

    What it is about this setting that won’t fit the Pathfinder system?

    When will your Pathfinder support taper off?

    I guess I don’t see why this is a good thing.

    Distant Scholar has expressed the very concerns I developed upon reading the announcement. I had similar reactions to the Starfinder announcement, as well.

    Having invested substantially in PRPG (and its predecessor, 3.5), I am just not interested in another game system. New Material that’s compatible with PRPG- Heck yeah!- but not sure I would even want to glance through the playtest packet for a new system. Only knowing DSP, and the level of quality/dedication that go into each DSP product, would keep me from just outright turning away from it. And if DSP chooses to go forward with a new system, how much time will be spent generating products that are PRPG compatible, if at all?

    I am very interested to see how DSP responds to/answers Distant Scholar’s post.

    Here here! I’ve been looking forward to a Third Dawn PRPG compatible setting book(s) since DSP released Psionics Unleashed. Big Campaign Setting hardcover, handfuls of smaller regional/factional softcovers- bring it on!

    I miss the “forum search” returning results from the forums. Right now it is just redirecting me…

    Also, I miss the sheer amount of information that was available in the old site’s forums. LOTS of useful discussions and ideas.

    I know that info will accumulate on this (the new site), but all that old info is just gone. sad panda.

    Psicrystal Feats

    Deep Crystal Psicrystal
    Your Psicrystal hardens and its multifaceted surface no long reflects light, but absorbs it.
    Prerequisite: Psicrystal Affinity
    Benefit: Your psicrystal becomes a Deep Crystal Psicrystal; hard as steel in its base form, growing harder and more durable as you improve it. A Deep Crystal Psicrystal functions as a normal psicrystal with the following changes:
    Your psicrystal gains Hardness 10 (that of Deep Crystal). In addition, each Personality Fragment beyond the initial one (gained from psicrystal affinity feat) implanted inside the psicrystal, grants the Deep Crystal Psicrystal +5 temporary hit points and +1 Hardness. These temporary hit points renew when the owner would regain her PP each day.
    The Deep Crystal Psicrystal counts as an object when subject to damaging effects that apply to hardness (physical damage, energy damage, etc.).
    A Deep Crystal Psicrystal uses the statistics found on page 3.

    Deep Crystal Companion
    Prerequisites: ML 7, Deep Crystal Psicrystal, Improved Psicrystal, Psicrystal Containment
    Benefit: The owner of a Deep Crystal Psicrystal adds the following psicrystal ability to the table of Psicrystal special abilities (UP pg 110):
    • Improved Self Propulsion (Su): As a full round action, its owner can will a Deep Crystal Psicrystal to take on the Deep Crystal Companion form. Similar to an Astral Construct, the Deep Crystal Companion’s body appears to be composed of deep crystal, with the Deep Crystal Psicrystal visibly glowing at its heart. The Deep Crystal Psicrystal remains in this form for one day (though the owner may end the effect sooner, if she so desires). While in the Deep Crystal Companion form, the Deep Crystal Psicrystal loses the Psicrystal Special Abilities Self Propulsion and Flight, but retains all other benefits and abilities of being a psicrystal (Natural Armor bonus, deliver touch powers, etc.) as well as its hardness, hit points (1/2 of its master’s), and temporary hit points.
    While in its Companion form, the deep crystal psicrystal can focus psionic energy to enhance its slam attack. As a free action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, the Deep Crystal Psicrystal can expend the focus stored within it (from the Psicrystal Containment feat) to deal +2d6 damage with its slam attack. The slam attack will stay charged for 1 minute or until it scores its next hit, similar to a deep crystal weapon.
    Also while in its Companion form, the owner of a Deep Crystal Psicrystal may temporarily infuse her Deep Crystal Psicrystal with additional power. As a standard action that provokes attacks of opportunity, the owner may pay 2PP to grant her Deep Crystal companion one choice from the Astral Construct menu B or two choices from menu A for 1 minute.
    A Deep Psicrystal Companion uses the statistics found on page 4 while in its Companion form.

    Improved Deep Crystal Companion
    Prerequisites: ML11, Deep Crystal Companion, Improved Psicrystal x 3
    Benefits: As Deep Crystal Companion with the following changes:
    – Add Greater Self Propulsion (Su): As Improved Self Propulsion except the Form taken is a Level 5 Astral Construct and add Improved Self Propulsion to the list of abilities that are not available while the Deep Crystal Companion is in Astral Construct form.
    – When spending PP to temporarily enhance the Deep Crystal Companion, you may instead pay 8 PP to grant your Deep Crystal Companion one Menu C choice or two choices from Menu B (one or both of the Menu B choices can be swapped for two choices from Menu A) for 1 minute.
    An Improved Deep Psicrystal Companion uses the statistics found on page 5 while in its Companion form.

    Greater Deep Crystal Companion
    Prerequisites: ML17, Deep Crystal Companion, Improved Deep Crystal Companion, Improved Psicrystal x 7
    Benefits: As Improved Deep Crystal Companion with the following changes:
    – Add Superior Self Propulsion (Su): As Improved Self Propulsion except the Form taken is a Level 9 Astral Construct. Flight is removed from the list of abilities that are unavailable in Astral Construct form and functions normally; Greater Self Propulsion is added to the list of abilities that are unavailable in Astral Construct form.
    A Greater Deep Psicrystal Companion uses the statistics found on page 6 while in its Companion form.

    A small deep crystal, about the size of a hand, walks on spidery legs and glows with an inner light.

    Construct traits: A deep crystal psicrystal has immunity to poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, disease, death effects, necromancy effects, mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects), and any effect that requires a Fortitude save unless it also works on objects or is harmless. It is not subject to critical hits, nonlethal damage, ability damage,
    ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or energy drain. It cannot heal damage, but it can be repaired and it may benefit from fast healing. Deep Crystal Psicrystals do not have the usual construct traits of darkvision and low-light vision.
    Deep Crystal Psicrystal Traits: A Deep Crystal Psicrystal has ½ its master’s hit points + 5 temporary hit points/ additional personality. A Deep Crystal Psicrystal uses its owner’s base attack bonus. A Deep Crystal Psicrystal uses its owner’s base saving throw bonuses and ability modifiers on saves, though it doesn’t enjoy any other bonuses its owner might have (from magic items or feats, for example).
    A Deep Crystal Psicrystal has the hardness of deep crystal (Hardness 10 +1/ additional personality) in all forms. A Deep Crystal Psicrystal counts as an object when subject to a damaging effect (halving energy damage before applying hardness, subtracting its hardness from all damage taken). Only damage in excess of its hardness is deducted from the Companion’s hit points.
    Psicrystal Granted Abilities: The Deep Crystal Psicrystal described here has the special abilities of alertness, improved evasion, share powers, telepathic link, sighted, deliver touch powers, and telepathic speech (If its master chooses not to activate the self-propulsion ability, the psicrystal reverts to a speed of 0 feet and has no Strength score and no Dexterity score.)
    Skills: A Deep Crystal Psicrystal has the same skill ranks as its owner, except that it has a minimum of 4 ranks each in Perception and Stealth. (Even if its owner has no ranks in these skills, a Deep Crystal Psicrystal has 4 ranks in each.) A psicrystal uses its own ability modifiers on skill checks.
    A Deep Crystal Psicrystal (with its self-propulsion Ability activated) uses its Dexterity modifier instead of its Strength modifier on Climb checks. It has a +8 racial bonus on Climb checks and can always choose to take 10, even if rushed or threatened.
    The Deep Crystal Psicrystal described here is that of a 7th-level Manifester, with self-propulsion ability activated. Entries mark with an * indicate the ability is linked to or increases with the master’s level in psionic classes.
    The externalization of fragments of a manifester’s consciousness, a Deep Crystal Psicrystal is rarely found far from a character with the ability to manifest psionic powers. A Deep Crystal Psicrystal’s characteristics depend on its master. For the purpose of effects related to number of Hit Dice, use the master’s total level in psionic classes.

    DEEP CRYSTAL COMPANION
    This vaguely humanoid shape, apparently composed of Deep Crystal, has a visibly glowing psicrystal at its heart.
